Kenneth C. Davis to Keynote EdCampSS!

It's official!  Kenneth C. Davis, creator and author of the bestselling “Don’t Know Much About” series, will deliver the Keynote for EdCamp Social Studies!

The first book in his acclaimed series, Don’t Know Much About History: Everything You Need to Know About American History but Never Learned, was originally published in 1990 and spent 35 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list.  In June 2011, a newly revised, expanded online essay writers and updated edition of the book, Don’t Know Much About History: Anniversary Edition, celebrating 20 years since its appearance on the New York Times Bestseller List, was published by HarperCollins, which reports sales of more than 1.7 million copies of the book.

In addition, Davis has developed a series of “Don’t Know Much About” books for children. These books take the “Don’t Know Much About” concept of making learning fun to younger readers in both picture books and middle grade reference books. They include Don’t Know Much About the 50 States, Don’t Know Much About the Solar System, Don’t Know Much About the Presidents, and Don’t Know Much About the Pilgrims.

Born and educated in public schools in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Kenneth C. Davis attended Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y. and Fordham University at Lincoln Center. In December 1998, he was honored with a Doctor of Humane Letters by Concordia College. He is married to Joann Davis. The couple divides their time between New York City and Dorset, Vermont. They have two grown children, Jenny and Colin.

Davis posts on history and the headlines regularly on his blog at the website www.dontknowmuch.com.
